Kim Bum recently traveled to China to attend the Fifth Beijing International Film Festival, which took place from April 17 to 19.
The 25-year-old actor went to represent his latest film, which premieres in Korea on May 15. Kim stars in the film called "The Beloved," which has alternately been called "Lovers and Movies" or "Show Me A Movie If You Love Me." The mystery romance was shot in China and co-stars Chinese actress Wang Li and Taiwanese star Joe Cheng.
Kim Bum traveled to China a day before the festival began. He attended a promotional event for the film with fellow members of the cast and crew. After granting interviews to local media, he stayed to attend the festival.
"The Beloved" is not his first acting job in China. Kim Bum also had a small part in a 2014 drama called "The Micro Era of Love," which was said to be the Chinese adaptation of the American TV series "Gossip Girl." The drama, which aired through China's QQ.com, focused on the love and business relationships that are helped and hurt by social media. In "The Micro Era of Love" he played the charismatic owner of an upscale restaurant.
Kim Bum already had a fan following in China due to his roles in such k-dramas as "Boys Over Flowers," "Padam Padam" and "That Winter The Wind Blows." But "The Micro Era Of Love" further improved his visibility among younger audiences. As a result of his increased popularity, the actor received many offers to film commercials in China. His schedule during the coming months may be crowded.
Kim Bum has already lined up his next role in Korea and it's in a drama.
