Looks like the royal family is hoping that Prince William and Kate Middleton's second child will be a girl, as the Duchess of Cambridge resumes her royal duties.
Kate Middleton suffered from hyperemesis gravidarum with her first pregnancy and now it looks like her second pregnancy also got off on a bumpy start.
Back in September, Clarence House revealed that "Her Royal Highness will no longer accompany The Duke of Cambridge on their planned engagement in Oxford today," E! News noted. House also said at the time that The Duchess of Cambridge was being treated by doctors at Kensington Palace.
The Duchess of Cambridge resumed her royal duties, which comprised of a lot of public appearances, after she received medical attention and got enough rest.
Here's a timeline of Kate's second pregnancy.
Sept. 8, 2014: Clarence House said, "Their Royal Highnesses, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, are very pleased to announce that the Duchess of Cambridge is expecting their second child."
"The Queen and members of both families are delighted with the news," Clarence House added.
Sept. 10, 2014: Middleton's father-in-law, Prince Charles told reporters during an event for The Prince's Trust charity that he was looking forward to becoming a grandfather again.
"I hope it will be a girl this time," he said.
Sept. 18, 2014: Middleton canceled her first solo trip on the advice of doctors as she was still suffering from hyperemesis gravidarum. Prince William undertook the visit instead.
Oct. 1, 2014: Middleton canceled her fourth official appearance owing to her health. Although she could not attend the launch of The Clore Art Room at London's Barlby Primary School, Middleton was there in spirit.
"I am truly sorry that I cannot be with you all today as you celebrate this milestone. As Patron of The Art Room I feel great pride to see the work that the charity is doing," Middle said.
Oct. 2, 2014: Buckingham Palace announced that a recent incident compelled Their Royal Highnesses to seek acceptable assurances from an individual whom they have asked to stop harassing and also following Prince George and his nanny.
Buckingham Palace revealed that the individual was seen at a central London Park in the vicinity of Prince George, who was removed from the Park without delay. The Duke and Duchess just like any parent want Prince George to have the freedom to safely experience normal childhood activities including going to the park.
Oct. 8, 2014: Buckingham Palace told E! News that Middleton was not scheduled to visit Olympic sailor Ben Ben Ainslie's America's Cup team base in Portsmouth, Hampshire.
"We'll be looking at each of her public engagements on a case by case basis," Buckingham Palace added.
Oct. 20, 2014: The royals delightfully confirmed they were expecting a baby in April 2015. Though Middleton was suffering from acute morning sickness, her condition was steadily improving, the palace revealed.
Oct. 31, 2014: The royal family purportedly vacationed at Balmoral Palace.
Nov. 8, 2014: Middleton visited the Valero oil refinery in Pembroke, Wales in a Matthew Williamson coatdress.
Nov. 12, 2014: Middleton met with young athletes at a SportsAid workshop held in West London. Middleton toured the GSK Human Performance Lab used by the 2020 Tokyo Olympic hopefuls.
Nov. 25, 2014: Donning a red dress, Middleton showed the first hint of a baby bump while attending an East Anglia Children's Hospice event in Norwich.
Dec. 10, 2014: The Duchess donned a shimmering Jenny Packham dress on a visit to New York with her husband, proudly showing off her growing baby bump.
Dec. 25, 2014: Middleton joined the Royal Family and the Queen at St Mary Magdalene Church near Sandringham for the traditional Christmas Day service.
Jan. 9, 2015: Kate celebrates her 33rd birthday.
Jan. 19, 2015: While opening a leisure centre in west London, Middleton said she could feel her baby kicking all the time while she was on royal duties.
Feb. 12, 2015: Kate showed off her Mustique tan and her baby bump while meeting Sir Ben Ainslie in Portsmouth.

"I'm due mid-April, to the end of April. Not long to go now," the Duchess told a volunteer on a visit to a children's centre in Woolwich. A late April birth could mean the royal baby could be born on Duke and Duchess's fourth wedding anniversary, April 29, Telegraph noted.
