The virtual marriage of "We Got Married" stars Song Jae Rim and Kim So Eun has reached its conclusion. On May 28, representatives for MBC confirmed the departure of the pair, who were known by fans as the LTE couple.
A report published by X Sports News announced their departure while highlighting the potential for a new couple to join the variety series.
"Song Jae Rim and Kim So Eun will leave 'We Got Married' in the middle of June," said a representative for MBC. "The last recording has yet to take place. There is still filming that remains and footage that has yet to air."
Officials from SM C&C, the agency which represents Song, also provided confirmation. A representative for SM C&C provided a statement to Newsen. "It is true that Song Jae Rim will be leaving 'We Got Married,' said the representative. "He has yet to film the final episode."
All reports have cited upcoming drama schedules as the primary motivation for their decision to leave the show. Kim has started filming the upcoming MBC drama, "Scholar Who Walks The Night." Her agency, Fantagio, provided further explanation about her departure. "She decided to leave the program to focus on her acting projects," said the representative.
The couple joined the cast of "We Got Married" in September 2014. Their appearance on the show helped to bolster their careers and increased their potential as an endorsement couple.
Song Jae Rim recently wrapped up the family drama, "Unkind Women." Although, he debuted as a film actor in 2009, his popularity surged through his portrayal as a kindhearted virtual husband.
Kim So Eun also experienced an increase in popularity though her appearance on the show. The actress, who is a beloved cast member of "Boys Over Flowers," experienced a strong comeback in 2014 with the psychological drama "Liar Game." She is one of the main actors in the July 2015 period vampire series, "Scholar Who Walks The Night," which also stars Lee Jun Ki and Lee Yoo Bi.
