WWE fans rejoice! WrestleMania 32 may have just gotten more interesting as "Stone Cold" Steve Austin hinted his WWE return at WrestleMania next year to face the "Beast" Brock Lesnar in a Texas Death Match.
"Stone Cold" Steve Austin podcast returned to the WWE Network making quiet an impact.
Austin returned to the WWE Network for one of his live podcast, time with Brock Lesnar's mouth piece, Paul Heyman. Austin shares a slew of formative history with Heyman. This was not the first time Heyman made an appearance on Austin's podcast.
Regular listeners of the Steve Austin Show thought there would be nothing left to talk about since Paul Heyman's been a regular on the show, but they were in for a big surprise.
Paul Heyman challenged Steve Austin on "The Beast Incarnate," Brock Lesnar's behalf to a match at the upcoming WrestleMania 32.
Though "The Texas Rattlesnake" Steve Austin did not verbally accept, he did go into full "Stone Cold" approach, going as far as hinting that he may return to the squared ring next year, according to reports on Inquisitr.
The number one pro wrestling journalist in the world, Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer described the ending to the Stone Cold podcast on the post-RAW edition of Wrestling Observer Radio.
Meltzer seemed confident that the match between Lesnar and Austin will happen at the upcoming WrestleMania event next year.
"Knowing both [Steve Austin and Paul Heyman] they didn't do it for their health. It was very clear that they were going to go out there and do this podcast, and in the last minute they were going to cut a promo, after they told you about money promos. It was a really fascinating thing," Meltzer said.
"Both of those guys... They didn't do that for their healthy, and they didn't do it to get buzz on the internet. I'm not saying that the match is happening, but I'm saying that if it didn't have a chance to happen, those guys aren't going there. Those guys aren't going out there to steal the spotlight away from other guys for some fake angle that's not going anywhere."
There's no denying that Brock Lesnar vs. Steve Austin would be a WrestleMania worthy fight, but the rattlesnake has one condition. If the match were to happen, then it would be a Texas Death Match, Fansided noted.
This condition could probably be a result of Austin's powerlessness when it comes to having a straight, technical wrestling match with anyone, leave alone the Beast.
Lesnar has admitted in past interviews that if there's one guy he'd like to get his hands on in a WWE ring, it's Stone Cold Steve Austin. Surprisingly, the two have never been close to having a match other than the advertised King of the Ring qualifying match back in 2002. Nevertheless, they did have a few confrontations when Austin was the general manager on RAW in 2003-2004.
Austin even stunned Lesnar out of the WWE at WrestleMania 20, which also marked the Beast's last night in the four sided ring until he returned eight years later.
