Nick Gordon was seen scampering away after seeing photographers outside of the house he shares with his mother. The 19-year-old was the subject of a lawsuit filed by Bobbi Kristina Brown's conservator, Bedelia Hargrove, over Whitney Houston's daughter's condition.

The photo of Nick Gordon scurrying away while on athletic wear was published by Daily Mail.

"The same day, he was spotted outside the duplex in a different pair of shorts," it said. "It was revealed this week that family members of Bobbi Kristina Brown filed a $40million suit against Gordon alleging that he stole money from Bobbi and violently abused her."

Ian Halperin wrote an unauthorized book titled, "Whitney & Bobbi Kristina: The Deadly Price of Fame," claiming that Nick Gordon is "shaking in his boots" because of the lawsuit.

There must be some basis to the reports that Nick Gordon insisted on a joint account with Bobbi Kristina because according to USA Today, talking to law professor at Fordham University in New York, the civil suit is not accidental.

"A fundamental question is, why is this guy being sued? Typically, plaintiffs do not go after people without deep pockets," Prof. Jim Cohen said.

Another lawyer, Bruce Gaynes, said that a civil suit is also easier to prove compared to a criminal case.

He said, "The standard in a criminal court is higher than in a civil court. Also, it may be intended to keep him from screwing around with them - under the theory that the best defense is a good offense."

Bobbi Kristina Brown's condition continues to deteriorate as she was taken off life support and transferred to a hospice where she's under pain relief medication. This process is usually applied for terminal patients who are at the tailend of their care.

Meanwhile, a source told People that Nick Gordon has become a scapegoat in Bobbi Kristina Brown's condition.

"He feels - and we all feel - like Nick has been a scapegoat in this case. It's scary for him, because he hasn't done anything wrong. He is completely innocent," the source said. "He has always cooperated with police, and he has nothing to hide. Anyone who looks at the facts would see that."
