Looks like the odds for the upcoming WWE Battleground PPV aren't actually going against the WWE Universe's opinion as the odds suggest Brock Lesnar will beat Seth Rollins for the WWE Heavyweight Championship and Roman Reigns will defeat Bray Wyatt.
If rumors doing rounds are any indication of what fans can expect to see at WWE's upcoming pay-per-view Battleground 2015, it looks like Brock Lesnar will emerge as the new WWE world heavyweight champion.
According to reports on Inquisitr, the odds for WWE Battleground show indicate that it is expected that Lesnar will not lose to Seth Rollins, however it's still not clear whether he will actually win the WWE Title, as WWE could probably end up having some sort of bizarre finish that will lead to a rematch between Lesnar and Rollins at SummerSlam in August.
Seth Rollins vs. Brock Lesnar
In addition, there has been talk of having Sheamus cash in his Money in the Bank contract at WWE Battleground during the Lesnar vs. Rollins match, which will eventually lead to him getting pinned by Rollins.
As far as the odds for the match between Lesnar and Rollins is concerned, "The Beast Incarnate" is a slight favorite at -170, while Rollins is a slight underdog at +130.
Though making this match between Lesnar and Rollins on a B-level event like Battleground is questionable, it seems to be a perfect forum to renew this feud as it could result in new angles that will eventually spill into SummerSlam.
One way the match could also end is that WWE leans on The Authority angle with Rollins yet again, setting up a disqualification and Rollins retaining the title. If Rollins keeps the title via DQ, this would set up a rematch at SummerSlam when Lesnar would regain the title, Bleacher Report noted.
Alternatively, Lesnar could win clean and this will lead to the much-anticipated Rollins-Triple H match at SummerSlam. However, considering that the show is still several weeks away, the creative team at WWE does have plenty of time to make up their mind.
John Cena vs. Kevin Owens
The United States Championship match between Kevin Owens and John Cena is the second biggest match at WWE Battleground. Several fans believe that Owens will walk out of the event as the new WWE United States champion; however the odds are indicating that Cena will retain his title over Owens.
The odds are John Cena -190, Kevin Owens +150.
Roman Reigns vs. Bray Wyatt
No prizes for guessing, Roman Reigns is favored to defeat Bray Wyatt at WWE Battleground, however it's unclear if this will just be a one-off match. There are reports that WWE is planning on having Wyatt go after the Intercontinental Championship after his feud with Reigns ends.
Here are the odds: Roman Reigns -150, Bray Wyatt +110
The odds will likely change over the next couple of weeks as the favorites emerge. However, most people are picking Reigns and Lesnar to win their respective matches, which means the odds are not going against the fans' opinion in those two cases.
WWE Battleground is scheduled to take place on July 19, at the Scottrade Center in St. Louis, Missouri.
