"Grey's Anatomy" fans have been speculating about Katherine Heigl's possible return to the upcoming season of the hospital drama.
It would be nice to see Katherine Heigl's character, Dr. Izzie Steven, reuniting with Dr. Meredith Grey, played by Ellen Pompeo, especially after the tragic death of the show's main leading man Dr. Derek Shepherd, played by Patrick Dempsey.
Rumors claim that Katherine Heigl left "Grey's Anatomy" years ago allegedly because of a misunderstanding with creator Shonda Rhimes purportedly triggered by the actress' manager mom, Nancy.
Nancy allegedly dissed the show's script and plot direction, provoking Shonda Rhomes into a feud.
However, Celeb Dirty Laundry reported that Katherine Heigl is purportedly firing her own mom because she believes the momager ruined her career.
"Nancy isn't a producer, or really even a manager - something that she admits herself," OK! Magazine wrote.
"But she thinks that she has a right to make decisions and she has angered a lot of people in the process. Katherine doesn't know when to stay quiet and she has damaged her reputation, and her mother encouraged that behavior. She is very close to her mom, but she knows she needs to salvage what remains of her career with someone else - that is if anyone else will take her."
With Nancy out of the picture, does this mean there's a bigger possibility of Katherine Heigl returning to "Grey's Anatomy" season 12?
Nothing is clear right now, but according to Inquisitr, "Grey's Anatomy" actress Camilla Ludington admitted that having Izzie back on the show will surely shake things up for her character, Jo and her love interest, Alex played by Justin Chambers.
Camilla Ludington is also reportedly nervous about how things would turn out for Jo on the upcoming season of "Grey's Anatomy." Is her anxiety for her character related to Katherine Heigl's possible return to the show? Fans will have to find out for themselves on the show's season 12 premiere in fall.
