"Outlander" series author Diana Gabaldon recently confirmed that she is writing an episode for the TV series adaptation in 2016. During a panel interview with showrunner Ron Moore in the recent San Diego Comic-Con, the author confirmed that she just landed her first TV writing gig.
As previously reported by IB Times, Diana Gabaldon revealed that she will be more involved in the Stars TV series adaptation in the coming episodes. It was said that the episode will be aired in the later half of the season.
"Yes, I actually am writing a script for one of the episodes this season. I'm looking forward to it." she said.
The publication pointed out that Gabaldon's recent statement went against her previous claim that she did not want to write an episode for "Outlander" series. She previously held that she has given full authority to the producers and TV writers to do what they think is best.
"When Ron and Maril came to talk to me, Ron asked me if I'd be interested in writing an episode. I said I think not, or at least not now." Gabaldon told Comic Book Resources earlier this year.
"For one thing, this is a really important season. It's kind of vital. If anything goes wrong, I don't want it to be my fault [laughs]. ... Maybe as time goes on I might."
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Ron Moore shared that they appreciate how Gabaldon has showed them their full support when it comes to making a few changes to the series.
"The thing that gives me the most comfort is that Diana likes it a lot," Moore said.
"She said, 'Oh, I really liked the way you did it. It was a difficult plot, I know, but I think you really found the essence of it. You really found the through line that really defines what this part of the journey is.' So I feel good about it."
