Casting for the KBS series, "The Secret of Birth" is wrapping up with the confirmation of Shin Seung Hwan as its latest cast member.

The actor, who recently appeared as the producer Shin Dong Hoon in the KBS program "Ad Genius Lee Tae Baek" will play Jong Tae in "The Secret of Birth." His character Jong Tae is the one and only friend of the hero, Hong Kyeong Doo, played by Yoo Joon Sang.

From the description of the plot, Hong Kyeong Doo will really need a friend. The drama synopsis makes it sound like the character faces some difficult times and the series is expected to have plenty of melodramatic moments.

"The Secret of Birth" is the story of a woman who wakes up to find that she has lost her memory. But that's not the worst of it. She cannot remember why she married the man she did. They are seemingly complete opposites. She is rich and well educated. He is poor and uneducated, yet they have been together long enough to have a daughter. What she cannot remember is what brought them together. They met when they were both on the verge of suicide. That meeting gave them a reason to live. It's her husband's job to help her remember their shared history.

Actress and former FinKL member Sung Yu Ri has already signed on to play Seon Young. As an actress, Seong Yoo Ri is known for her roles in "Hong Gil Dong," "Romance Town" and "Feast of the Gods."

Yoo Joon Sang, who plays her husband, appeared in the drama, "My Husband Got A Family" and the 2012 film, "In Another Country."

Fellow FinK.L. member, Lee Jin, also appears in this drama. She previously appeared in the dramas, "The Great Seer," and "Jejungwon." In "The Secret of Birth," she is jealous of Seon Yong and marries Han Sang Jin. He plays Choi Ki Tae, a rich man who is also a greedy liar. Han Sang Jin's performance provides a sharp contrast from his previous role of the generous warm king in "The Horse Healer."

Kim So Hyun, previously seen in "Missing You" plays Sung Yoo Ri's younger character as an optimistic young girl.

The drama is directed by Kim Jong Hyeok, who directed "Stranger Than Paradise," and written by Kim Gyoo Wan, who wrote the drama "Cinderella's Sister."
