On July 22, the Korean outlet OSEN published an exclusive report which revealed the identity of the previously unknown half-sister of Kim Soo Hyun and her current profession.
According to the report, Kim Juna, the half-sister of Kim Soo Hyun, debuted as a solo vocalist with the song "What Do I Do Without You" for the "High Society" original soundtrack.
OSEN cited unnamed industry insiders who supported Kim Soo Hyun, while providing context for the omission of his half-sibling, during past interviews. "The two siblings were reportedly close during childhood," said the article published by OSEN.
Representatives for "High Society" acknowledged the identity of Kim Juna, in a statement provided to TV Report. "Kim Juna is Kim Soo Hyun's little sister, but he has been careful about mentioning it," said a representative for the production.
The representatives for the 27-year-old Hallyu star addressed concerns that he had neglected to discuss his half-sibling, in the past. Kim is an extremely private actor, who has previously stated that he was the only son in his family while also joking that the closest thing he had to a sibling was his dog.
His spokespeople acknowledged his reluctance to discuss the sensitive issue and desire to protect his family from public scrutiny, in a report published by TV Report.
"He previously did not speak out because he intended to be considerate of his mother's heart," said a representative from his side.
Meanwhile, Kim Soo Hyun is preparing for his upcoming film, "Real" and will appear at the upcoming Korean entertainment convention, KCON 2015.
"What Do I Do Without You" was released on July 21 and highlights the potential vocal talent of Kim Juna.
