"The Authority" leader Triple H may face the reigning WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins at WWE SummerSlam 2015.
Despite several rumors doing rounds hinting that Brock Lesnar will dethrone Seth Rollins beating him at WWE Battleground 2015, Rollins managed to retain his title at the pay-per-view thanks to a shocking return by The Undertaker.
While the odds indicated that Lesnar will not lose to Rollins, "The Beast Incarnate" was not able to take back his championship title from Rollins after he cashed "The Money in the Bank" contract at WrestleMania 31 to pin Roman Reigns and become the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion.
WWE officials reportedly discussed setting the current WWE World Heavyweight Champion to square off against "The Cerebral Assassin" Triple H (Paul Levesque) in a non-title match for the next month's SummerSlam PPV for a while. However, a report from DailyWrestlingNews notes that the match won't be taking place anytime soon.
WWE will reportedly hold off on that fight until early WrestleMania season next year.
Rollins may also face Brock Lesnar in a gimmick match which was decided by the WWE officials before finalizing Brock Lesnar vs. The Undertaker as the SummerSlam main event.
Another report from Inquisitr notes that Rollins is near to Triple H's heart even behind the scenes. WWE presented Rollins as "The Future of WWE" as they wanted to get him over but also make him into a top heel. Apparently, there's a change in plan and Rollins will reportedly change into an Edge-like character that can do anything to get ahead but does not take trash from anyone.
This was expected to fuel a feud between Triple H and Rollins leading to a clash between the two at WWE SummerSlam.
This turn, however is now a long-term deal, according to DailyWrestlingNews. This switch is expected to help Rollins character grow and it only makes sense to not allow this match to happen anywhere else than the grandest stage of them all, WrestleMania. That said, it is also possible that WWE is planning for it happen at the Royal Rumble or Fast Lane PPV.
The only possible obstruction in making Triple H vs. Seth Rollins a reality at WrestleMania 32 is the fact that most speculate that "The Rock" will face off with Triple H with UFC's most dominant female fighter Ronda "Rowdy" Rousey at her corner.
Though this is still the idea, WWE could very well alter things around based on what is needed. "The Rock" may make an appearance at WrestleMania next year, but will he face Tripe H is yet to be seen.
That said, many including former Hall of Famer Jim Ross would like Rollins to hold on to his championship title for a solid year.
"I would not take the championship off of Seth Rollins until WrestleMania," WWE famed announcer said. Ross added that if something works, Rollins can drop the title at WrestleMania as by then he'd have had a full year and if he's not a "made man" after being champion, WWE cannot be blamed, per SciFiFighting.
The first ever NXT Champion, Rollins has defeated former teammates Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns along with Randy Orton and had a no-contest with Brock Lesnar in the main event of WWE Battleground 2015.
