Soo Ae Will Follow 'Mask' With A Starring Role In 'Take Off 2'

Soo Ae will transition from her previous role of shopgirl-turned-heiress to take on a female hockey player in the 2016 film, "Take Off 2."

On August 10, The Yeongnamilblo, published a report confirming the casting for the upcoming sports film. This follows previous reports, which were issued on July 30.

The actress will portray a member of the first women's ice hockey team to receive recognition in Korea. "Take Off 2" is the sequel to the 2009 blockbuster which focused on skydiving.

Soo received attention for her portrayal of the title role in "Sunny." Other notable film roles include Kim In Hae in the 2013 bio-horror flick, "The Flu." Prior to starring in "Mask," she was known by K-Drama fans for her appearance in "A Thousand Day's Promise" and "Queen of Ambition."

Joining the "Mask" star is Kim Seul Gi, who is currently portraying Shin Soon Ae in tvN's "Oh My Ghost." She continues to receive positive attention for her role as a virgin ghost who is forced to possess Park Bo Young, in order to transition towards the afterlife.

Kim continues to gain momentum as a television comedienne with notable roles including her portrayal of a webtoon editor in "Flower Boy Next Door" and turn as a furniture-maker in "Discover of Love."

The "SNL Korea" star has appeared in several film roles since her silver screen debut in 2013. Her notable movie roles include Ha Na in "Miss Granny" and Deok Soo's younger sister in "Ode to My Father."

Teen star Jin Ji Hee is also included in the female-centric star-studded cast. Jin recently appeared in the controversial drama, "Seonam Girls High School Investigators" and portrayed Princess Hwawan in the 2015 period film, "The Throne."

According to early reports, "Take Off 2" will begin filming in October.
