The weekend drama, "A Hundred Year's Inheritance," starring Eugene, is getting closer to an impressive 30 percent in viewer ratings.
According to Nielsen Korea the drama earned a 28 percent rating last week, 1.2 percent higher than the previous episode.
In this drama, Eugene plays Min Chae Won, a young woman who leaves her cheating husband, Kim Chul Kyu, played by Choi Won Young. She heads home to help at her family's noodle company. She meets Lee Se Yoon, played by Lee Jung Jin, a wealthy man trying to recover from the death of the woman he loved.
Completing the love square is Kim Joo Ri, played by Yun Ah Jeong, who was Lee Se Yoon's sister-in-law but wants to become his wife.
Close behind "A Hundred Year's Inheritance" was the KBS 2TV show, "Lee Soon Shin Is The Best," starring IU. The series came in second at a healthy 26.2 percent. "Lee Soon Shin Is The Best" tells the story of a family who must cope with their father's sudden death and the secrets it reveals. Kim Jung Ae, played by Go Doo Shim found Lee Soon Shin, played by IU, on the doorstep when she was a baby. She raised the girl as her own child but when her husband died, she discovers that Lee's real mother is the actress Song Mi Ryung, played by Lee Mi Sook. When Soon Shin finds out, she feels conflicted, torn between the mother who gave birth to her and the mother who raised her.
"Gold Appear," the story of a pretentious middle-class family, ranked third with 14.2 percent in viewer ratings. In this drama Han Ji Hye plays two women who are almost identical. She plays Mong Hee, a street seller who wants to design jewelry, and Yoo Na, the daughter of a rich family. Park Hyun Soo, played by Yun Jung Hoon, owns a jewelry company and is about to divorce Yoo Na when she disappears. Then he meets Mong Hee and asks her to pretend to be his wife.
In fourth place, the SBS drama "The Secret of Birth" rated 7.2 percent. In "The Secret of Birth," Jung Yi Hyun, played by Sung Yu Ri, is a genius, but she has amnesia and cannot remember her husband and young daughter. Not only that, she can't figure out why she married him as Hong Gyung Doo, played by Yoo Jun Sang, is uneducated and poor. What she has forgotten is that they met when they were both about to commit suicide and decided instead to choose life together.
