Super Junior's Choi Siwon will make his final K-Drama appearance before he enters the military, in the upcoming MBC series, "She Was Pretty."
The star, who recently provided a cameo for "Masked Prosecutor" portrays Kim Shin Hyuk, a fastidious feature editor. Shin Hyuk develops a complicated work and professional relationship with Kim Hye Jin (Hwang Jung Eum), an intern who was once the heiress to a thriving publishing company.
Known for his charismatic personality that influences both men and women, Shin Hyuk could become an iconic drama role for Choi, similar to Kang Hyun Min in "The King of Dramas."
While his turn as a spoiled actor in the 2012 series is one of his most recent Korean drama roles, the Super Junior member has an extensive portfolio.
In 2010, he starred in the SBS series "Oh! My Lady" and "Athena: Goddess of War." He followed these characters with a notable role in "Poseidon" before leading the cast of the Taiwanese series, "Skip Beat!" with fellow Super Junior member, Donghae.
"She Was Pretty" premieres on MBC on September 16 in the time slot previously occupied by "Scholar Who Walks the Night."
A Pink's Jung Eun Ji returns to drama with the upcoming cheerleading series, "Sassy Go Go." She portrays a head cheerleader who is struggling with academics in the drama, which is also called "Cheer Up!"
Jung garnered positive attention for her breakout role in "Reply 1997." She followed the success of the series with her portrayal of Moon Hee Sun in "That Winter, The Wind Blows." In 2014, she channeled her musical talent for "Trot Lovers."
Her role in the upcoming cheerleading series could solidify her image as one of the most promising acting idols who are under age 25.
N of the K-pop male group VIXX will follow his roles in "Hotel King" and "The Family is Coming," with "Sassy Go Go." He will portray a successful student whose grades begin to drop, in the promising teen drama.
"Sassy Go Go" will air on Mondays and Tuesday. The series will premiere on October 5 on KBS.
BtoB's Yook Sungjae follows the success of his role in "Who Are You: School 2015" with a starring role in SBS' "The Village: Achiara's Secret." He portrays Woo Jae, a police officer who is tasked with uncovering the truth behind a series of mysterious murders.
While his acting in "Who Are You: School 2015" garnered positive attention from teen drama fans, Yook landed on the radar of most audiences with his role in "Reply 1994." He followed with a turn in the acclaimed weekend series, "Plus Nine Boys."
"The Village: Achiara's Secret" will provide him with the opportunity to fully extend his acting range, as he appears opposite seasoned actress, Moon Geun Young.
"The Village: Achiara's Secret" follows "Yong Pal" and is scheduled to premiere on September 30.
Other notable acting idols that are returning to K-Drama include Girl's Day Hyeri, who leads the cast of "Reply 1988," and INFINITE's Lee Sung Yeol in the action-disaster series, "D-Day."
