Charlize Theron reportedly moved on from split with Sean Penn into the arms of Jake Gyllenhaal, according to the latest reports.

According to OK! magazine, there was undeniable chemistry between Jake Gyllenhaal and Charlize Theron.

Apparently, the "Mad Max: Fury Road" actress turned to the "Southpaw" actor for comfort following her split from Sean Penn.

Charlize Theron and Jake Gyllenhaal first sparked dating rumors back in August after they were spotted dining at Sugarfish in Los Angeles, California. And the actor was particularly touchy towards the actress.

"Jake was touching her hand and smiling, making her laugh. Their chemistry was obvious," the sourch told the magazine.

"There's always been attraction, but the timing was never right. The romance is fresh, but they are having a blast so far," the source added.

Part of Jake Gyllenhaal's alleged appeal to Charlize Theron was how different he is from her ex-boyfriend, Sean Penn.

While the latter was a "powder keg" where "you never know what might set him off," Jake Gyllenhaal is "gentle, thoughtful, and kind."

Meanwhile, Jake Gyllenhaal reportedly thinks Charlize Theron is very different from his previous relationships because the actress is "strong, independent, and straightforward."

Back in July, Jake Gyllenhaal confessed to Howard Stern that he has been in love twice in his life. The actor previously dated Kirsten Dunst, Reese Witherspoon and Taylor Swift.

"There are a lot of beautiful women, and there are opportunities. But at the same time, if you find the right person ... I believe in monogamy. I believe in when you meet somebody who's right, it will be right, and you'll stay there," he said.

Charlize Theron broke off her engagement with Sean Penn in June after almost two years of being together.

Charlize Theron and Jake Gyllenhaal have yet to respond to the latest dating rumors.
