If ever a drama was well named, it's "I Hear Your Voice."

One of the main characters in the SBS drama is Park Soo Ha, played by Lee Jong Suk. Park Soo Ha can hear people's thoughts, which makes him very useful to defense attorney Jang Hye Sung, played by Lee Bo Young. But the story is not just about his paranormal abilities. It is also about the importance of listening to others and not proceeding blindly without all the facts.

Jang Hye Sung is a woman who has no fear about expressing her opinions, but she really needs to learn to listen so she can discover the whole truth about the people in her life and the defendants she represents. She tends to hear what she wants to hear and it's not always enough to get the full picture.

The drama has been breaking its own records for a few episodes now. On June 14, it was up 1.1 percent in ratings over the previous day's ratings of 15 percent. By June 20, it was up to a 17.8 percent viewer rating. That's a 1.7 percent increase.

The competing drama "Heaven's Order" rated 8.9 percent of the viewers, while MBC's "The Queen's Classroom," which got good reviews on its first episodes, earned 7.8 percent.

Netizens have called "I Hear Your Voice" the next must-watch drama.

What's making this drama so popular?

The characters are interesting. Lee Jong Suk is so sweet in his attempts to protect Lee Bo Young that netizens want to pack him a box lunch. Lee Bo Young's character is irritating and shortsighted at times, but you know, based on her past behavior, that she is a good person. The cases that Lee Bo Young and her team defend keep the plot moving along at an interesting pace. There's the possibility of romance between Jang Hye Sung and the dorky but lovable attorney Cha Gwan Woo, played by Yoon Sang Hyun. And there's the ongoing conflict, which you can't be sure is going to remain a conflict, between Lee Bo Young's character and Lee Dah Hee's prosecutor Seo Do Yeon.

And just to keep things tense, there is the menacing figure of the murderer Min Joon Guk, played by Jung Woong In, that Park Soo Ha must defend Jang Hye Sung against.

And the underlying theme of the drama is a worthy one. Everyone could learn to listen a little more carefully.
