Tiger Woods' Surgery was performed on Wednesday in Park City, Utah by neurosurgeon Dr. Charles Rich, his official website reported. Reports said that the "14-time major champion" had had his first successful micro discectomy surgery on his back in March 2014.

The announcement regarding Tiger Woods' surgery was made on Friday, when he had already undergone a second micro discectomy.

"Tiger Woods underwent a micro discectomy late on Sept. 16 at Park City Medical Center," Dr. Charles said to the reporters. He added, "With the upcoming offseason, the decision was made to remove a small disc fragment that was pinching his (Tiger Woods') nerve. The microsurgery was a complete success, and he was discharged Thursday night."

Post his surgery, Tiger Woods had put on his "fighter" spirit. He said that he would make a full recovery. However, the ESPN reported that Tiger Woods' surgery could plummet is world ranking. Reports revealed that Tiger would not be able to participate in "any of his three scheduled tournament(s)" which would start in the latter half of 2015. Woods would most likely miss on the upcoming Frys.com Open, Hero World Challenge in Bahamas and Bridgestone America's Golf Cup in Mexico City.

Tiger had felt some "occasional" pain in his back and hip area for the last few weeks, including at the Wyndham Championship. After a thorough examination, Tiger Woods' surgery was planned, in order to have him "return to the PGA tour as soon as possible," his official website reported.

Tiger Woods' surgery would be supplemented by an "intensive rehabilitation and soft tissue treatment," which would be started within a week from the micro discectomy. However, the healing and recovery times vary from person to person; Tiger would most likely be able to return to Golf in early 2016.

"I will be attending my foundation-hosted Hero World Challenge but won't be able to play," Tiger said. He added, "I appreciate everything that Hero does for the Tiger Woods Foundation, and I have a great personal relationship with Mr. Munjal (vice chairman and CEO of Hero MotoCorp). I look forward to being there to support my event."

The golf enthusiasts had just one question to ask, if Tiger Woods' surgery would put a break on his golfing career. "I've been injured before and played again. It won't be any different this time," Tiger Woods replied.
