Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert had a quick divorce. Blake finally opened up about his surprise divorce from his ex-wife Miranda Lambert. The divorce was speedy, US Weekly reported.
After four years of wedded life, the country superstars dropped a bomb and shocked their fans that they were getting divorced. The announcement came in July. Within a few hours of the news, US Weekly had revealed that their divorce was already finalized.
"In Oklahoma, it happens so fast," Shelton, the 39-year-old star, told the "Bobby Bones Show" on Wednesday, Sept. 23. "Like, Miranda and I didn't have any kids, and we had a prenuptial agreement, whatever we had. Once we filed for divorce, it was over in, like, I think it was like a nine or 10-day waiting period until it's over."
During the time of their divorce, US Weekly had reported that the couple divided up their assets accordingly.
The Nashville property went to Lambert, 31. Shelton held to the Oklahoma ranch. Since the agreement was reached amicably, the judge was quick to sign off on the divorce documents.
"We knew if rumblings and rumors started coming out, they would just be that," Shelton told the radio program. "By the time anybody knew anything, it was over... It was done."
Sources had confirmed that both Shelton and Lambert were devastated due to the divorce. However, they did their best to hide their feelings and put up an effort to appear fine in the days that followed the split. They resorted to social media.
"Our whole thing was, we are going to be cool about this, it is what it is," Shelton recalled of their surprisingly friendly interaction in the days after their split announcement. "We're buddies," US weekly recalled.
