Son Ye Jin's latest film "Bad Guys Always Die" will be screened on October 2 at the Busan International Film Festival.

The 2015 festival takes place from October 1 to 10.

The actress, last seen in the film "The Pirates" and the moody melodrama "Shark," plays a mysterious woman who may or may not be a killer. It's the first Chinese film for the actress.

The Korean-Chinese production also stars popular Taiwanese actor Bolin Chen. In "Bad Guys Always Die" Chen plays a mild-mannered Chinese language teacher who visits Jeju Island with some friends. It's a logical cinematic step for Chen, whose 2014 road trip film "The Continent" was a hit and earned $103 million. Bolin Chen also played the Lee Jin Wook role in the earlier Chinese version of "The Time I Didn't Love You, 7,000 days."

On Jeju Island Chen's character meets Son Ye Jin's character. She's mysterious. Soon Chen's character and all his buddies are being chased and their vacation takes some unusual turns. The crime thriller comedy was shot almost entirely on Jeju Island.

The film also stars Kimi Qiao aka Qiao Ren Liang and Korean actor Shin Hyun Joon as Chen's buddies.

"Bad Guys Always Die" is produced by China's New Power Film and backed by the Huayi Brothers. Sun Hao directed the movie. The executive producers are Kang Je Gyu and actor-director Feng Xiaogang. Kang's hits include the the Korean film "Taegukgi," "My Way" with Jang Dong Gun and "Salut D'Amour" with Park Geun Hyung and Youn Yuh Jung. Feng directed other films for the Huayi Brothers, including "If You Are The One," "If You Are The One 2" and "Personal Tailors."

The film will be released in late October in both China and Korea. The popularity of k-dramas and k-movies in China has led to the scouting of more Korean stars for Chinese films and dramas. The list of k-drama actors that have worked in China during the last few years includes Rain, Kim Tae Hee, Song Seung Hoon, Song Hye Kyo, and Kim Bum. Korean actors don't need to speak the language as their voices are dubbed.
