Kim Hyung Joon, the youngest member of the band SS501, and Kim Dasom, a member of the girl group SISTAR, have been cast in a new KBS drama "Love Rides The Song."
The drama, previously called "Beans and Field," will focus on the story of three families. Through their experiences the drama's characters will come to realize the importance of family and just how much damage their actions can do. They will have the opportunity to repent and make amends for the harm they have done.
In "Love Rides The Song," Kim Hyung Joon plays Tae Kyung, a theater producer with a kind and gentle nature. SISTAR's Dasom will play Song Deul Rim, an aspiring musical actress.
Dasom has not had a lot of acting experience. She had a supporting role in the drama "Shut Up Family," and she has appeared as herself on several specials and variety shows, including "Running Man," "Shinwha Broadcast" and "Beauty and the Beast."
Kim Hyung Joon has more roles on his acting resume. He recently finished appearing as Mong Gyu on the MBC weekend drama "Gold Appear!" Mong Gyu was the younger brother of the character played by Han Ji Hye. He was also a mamma's boy who had no desire to become independent.
Kim Hyung Joon had cameo appearances in "Nonstop 5," "Hotelier," "Spotlight" and "Boys Over Flowers." He has appeared on several variety/reality shows, including "We Got Married," and he served as an emcee on "M Countdown" and MTV's "The M."
He also did the voice over for the Korean version of "The Life of Pi" and has a role in the film "An Actor Is An Actor," which stars MBLAQ's Lee Joon. That film has been invited to the 18th Busan International Film Festival this October, the same month it will be released.
Also appearing in "Love Rides The Song" are Baek Sung Hyun as Park Hyun Woo, Jo Seung Hee as Song Soo In, Deul Im's older sister, and Kwak Hee Sung.
"Love Rides The Song will air in November. It will take over the time slot previously occupied by "Tale of Two Sisters." Lee Deok Gun will direct. He previously directed the dramas "TV Novel: Love, My Love," "Happiness in the Wind" and "Cooking Up Romance." Hong Young Hee is the writer. Hong also wrote the dramas "Beautiful Days," "Moon and Stars For You," and "A Woman's Choice."
