What's the best way to handle a dating scandal? Should the stars confess or deny it?

A look back at some of the year's most headline-worthy dating scandals may offer some hints for Suzy Bae and her "Gu Family Book" co-star Sung Joon.

The two were seen dining at a Japanese restaurant with friends but the giveaway that they were very close was a photo of his arm around her shoulder.

"Gu Family Book" staff members were not surprised at the dating rumors between Sung Joon and Suzy Bae because the two spent time together during filming and were very friendly. As soon as the photographs were released, fans wanted to know more. Were they dating? Their agencies said no but the rumors kept buzzing.

You can't blame k-celebrities for wanting to keep a relationship a secret, especially in the early stages when they may not even be sure how they feel about each other.

Also, some younger stars are told not to date by their management agencies. And fans can develop an irrational hatred of the person their favorite star is dating. But fans also seem upset if they feel like their favorite celebrities are keeping secrets from them.

What advice can Sung Joon, the star of "Shut Up Flower Boy Band," and Suzy, the star of "Dream High" gather from the year's previous "dating scandals?"

Here's how it played out for other celebrities.

Jo In Sung and Kim Min Hee: Shortly after he finished filming his hit drama "That Winter The Wind Blows," Jo In Sung was seen out with actress Kim Min Hee. The two knew each other for 10 years and confessed to dating for about four months. Their agencies confirmed it. That scandal ended quickly. It is his first public relationship although she previously publicly dated fellow actor Lee Jung Ae and model Lee Soo Hyuk.

Won Bin and Lee Na Yong: Paparrazzi who camped outside Lee Na Young's home for weeks and when they snapped several photos of him leaving her home, finally forced Won Bin to confess that the two were dating. After a flurry of articles, their agencies confirmed the couple had dated for months. The buzz died down in about a week.

Lee Chung Ah and Lee Ki Woo, who met on the set of "Flower Boy Ramen Shop," dated for four months before her agency stated that the couple were dating. In their comedy, Lee Chung Ah, who now appears in "Wonderful Mama," chose the other guy in the love triangle. The confirmation of their dating before rumors even began to circulate meant there was little scandalous about the news.

It seems as if the sooner stars confess to dating, the less of a scandal it is.

Do you think k-celebrities should confess to dating and if so, how soon should they make a relationship public? Let us know what you think?
