WINNER's Nam Tae Hyun will appear on the upcoming tvN variety show, "Actor School."

On December 24, Daily Sports confirmed that the 21-year-old idol would receive dramatic instruction from the acclaimed acting coach, Park Shin Yang, as part of his participation in the program.

"Park Shin Yang will give him a chance to grow further," said a representative for Nam's agency, YG Entertainment, in a statement published by Daily Sports. "[He] has been interested in such acting appearances from his WINNER activities.

According to the report, the goal of the program is to hone the skills of stars who have received negative feedback for their acting or establish performative qualities within celebrities who are aspiring actors.

Nam was previously criticized for his lackluster performance in the 2015 SBS weekend drama, "Late Night Restaurant."

Critics and audiences harshly responded to his ill-timed facial expressions and inability to deliver lines with proper modulation, creating what is often referred to in Korea as "foot acting."

His inclusion on "Actor School" follows the recent confirmation of a WINNER comeback, which is scheduled for January 11.

The upcoming release serves as a follow-up to the hit debut album, "2014 S/S," which garnered critic acclaim for its musicality including the lead single, "Empty."

"Actor School" will be directed by Baek Seung Reong, whose previous credits include "The Idle Mermaid."

Other stars who will appear on the program include Jang Su Won, whose acting performances have been called robotic by detractors and Yoo Byung Jae, a variety personality, writer, and actor.
