Five Fun Facts About Taecyeon

You may soon be spending a few weekend hours with Taecyeon if he signs on to appear in the drama "Wonderful Season." The 2PM singer is considering a role in the KBS multigenerational weekend drama slated to replace "Wang Family" early next year.

Taecyeon may have already achieved success as a popular member of the boy band 2 PM but he really likes acting. He recently starred as a detective in the paranormal drama "Who Are You?" Before that he had a leading role in "Dream High," with co-stars Suzy Bae and Kim Soo Hyun, and a supporting role in "Cinderella's Sister, with co-stars Moon Geun Young and Chun Jung Myung"

Here are some things you may not know about the actor.

1) He is pretty dynamic on stage but the sweet shy and slightly goofy roles in dramas are closer to his real life personality. His most recent role in the film "Marriage Blue," might be the closest.

"I played a character named Won Chul," said Taecyeon. "He is timid, quiet and has a hard time expressing his feelings. He's a lot like me."

2) Taecyeon originally hoped to become a doctor but now that he's tried acting, he plans to continue improving his craft.

"Before I ever appeared in "Cinderella's Sister" there were negative comments about my acting abilities," said Taecyeon.

And he has learned to ignore the haters.

"Compared to how I used to be, my patience has grown tremendously and I no longer get shaken by such reactions," he said. "One day I hope to overwhelm the audience just by looking at them just like Lee Byung Hun does."

3) He works out twice a day. He was inspired to start exercising by watching 2AM's Changmin.

"I noticed his body changing so I wanted to try it too," said Taecyeon.

While working out makes him happy and helps him feel confident about his body, he is not happy with all of it.

"I dislike that I have small hands compared to my body," he said. "My arms got a lot larger from working out so the other members of 2PM say I'm like a dinosaur and tease me."

4) He speaks Korean and is fluent in English, since he attended school in the U.S. He is also studying Japanese.

"I am interested in Japanese anime so it's fun to study Japanese. Also I can act in Japanese dramas if I can speak the language.

5) He's good looking and smart. He recently enrolled in an International Business course at Korea University's Graduate School.

"I majored in Business Administration while I was still a trainee. I wanted to start my own business if I failed to debut as an artist,"

He was motivated to sign up for more studying while doing volunteer work in Africa last year. It was then that he realized how his influence could be used to make things better.

"I don't intend to do anything specially but the people around me like to joke and say "Are you going to work for the UN in the future?"

But to him it does not seem like such a bad idea.
