Fans of actor Joo Won never have to wait long to see their favorite actor because he never seems to stop working. He just finished playing Doctor Park Shi On on "The Good Doctor" and he's appearing in the musical "Ghost." In December fans will also be able to see him playing a detective in the romantic film "Catch Me."
His "Catch Me" character Detective Lee Ho Tae is an elite profiler, an expert in tracking and catching crooks. Detective Lee exudes confidence because he rarely fails to catch the criminal he is chasing. There are exceptions and one in particular will undermine his confidence in an unpredictable way.
As Ho Tae is out staking a serial killer one day, that killer gets involved in a hit and run accident. When Ho Tae follows the driver home, he discovers that she is none other than Yoon Jin Sook, his first love. And he has never really gotten over her.
Yoon Jin Sook is played by Kim A Joong, who appeared in the films "200 Pounds Beauty" and "My PS Partner," as well as the dramas "Sign" and "The Accidental Couple."
She took the role because of her talented co-star and also because her quirky character was so appealing.
"I liked the character of Yoon Jin-sook because she is unpredictable," said Kim when she began filming in May. "I think it's going to be a fun and cheery movie".
But Yoon Jin Sook's fun and unpredictable personality only complicate relations between the two leading characters, as does her choice of a profession.
Ho Tae becomes even more confused in "Catch Me" when he discovers that his first love is not only a hit and run driver but the talented burglar that he has been profiling. Will his sense of duty and professional pride win out? Or will he sacrifice both for the sake of love?
Film stills show Kim A Joong dressed as a glamorous criminal, wearing a stylish black trench coat and sunglasses. Her character not only dresses well but she's good at what she does, the kind of careful criminal that ties up all the loose ends, which is why no one has ever been able to catch her before. Her specialty is breaking into homes when the owner is away.
Lee Hyun Jong is the director and Lotte Entertainment is producing the film. Joo Won is already considering his next film project, "Fashion King," a story about a man who discovers fashion and becomes a style icon.
