US Variety unveiled two international posters of "The Man Standing Next" which will be released in January 2020.
The Synopsis is about the Director of the Central Intelligence Agency (Lee Byung-hun). The movie depicts the story of the 40 days before the assassination of the president of the Republic of Korea in 1979. It deals with the most dramatic moments of Korea's modern and contemporary history.
Variety reported "The Man Standing Next has been pre-sold in Japan, the Philippines, Singapore, and Taiwan. This movie is the second work of director Woo Min-ho and Lee Byung-hun. They have a history of success with Inners in 2015. It will be one of the most profitable films in Korea, given the high interest in the subject as well as the director and actors' hard work."
On the poster, Lee Byung-hun who plays the role of Kim Gyu-Pyeong can be seen wearing headphones used for wiretapping and a face loaded with a gun.
Meanwhile, "The Man Standing Next" is based on the original nonfiction bestseller of the same title which sold over 520,000 copies.
