Parasite is one of the most famous movies in Korean history. If you don't know the stars behind this amazing film, here are some information about them:
Song Kang-ho
Role: The father and head of the Kim family named Ki-taek. Actor Song Kang-ho described his character as a person who is ineffectual as a leader of the household that has no backbone at first and is also he is a person who cannot make decisions quickly and effectively.
Song Kang-ho is a longtime collaborator of director Bong's and has appeared in several of his films. You may have seen the actor in the films "Snowpiercer," "The Host," and "Memories of Murder."
Director Bong Joon-ho described the actor as a genius. Song Kang-ho's other notable appearances include "Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance" and "Taxi Driver."
Choi Woo-Shik
Role: The son of the Kim family named Ki-woo. His character in the film is ambitious and driven with a big hope of achieving something but he has an unsystematic way of praising his goals. He has a very close and playful bond with his sister Ki-Jung.
You may have known or seen him from Director Bong's 2017 film titled "Okja," as well as Yeon Sang-ho's 2016 zombie thriller, "Train to Busan" and Kim Tae-Yong's 2014 coming-of-age film titled "Set Me Free."
Park So-dam
Role: Park So Dam is the daughter of the Kim family named Ki-Jung. Her role is a cool girl with a raw artistic talent that makes her family benefit from her talent. The actress shared that when she first saw the script, she felt as if she wrote all of the lines because it felt very natural for her.
You may know her from the movies "The Priests" (2015) and "The Silenced" (2015), and the Korean hit television drama titled "Cinderella and the Four Knights" (2014).
Jang Hye-jin
Role: Jang Hye-jin plays the character of Chung-sook who is the mother of the Kim family. The practical, protective, and resourceful mother. To top it off she makes a killer ram-don.
You may have seen her from the ongoing TV series "Crash Landing on You." Also, she is seen in films like "Marine Boy" (2009) and "If It Snows on Christmas" (1998).
Cho Yeo-Jeong
Role: Cho Yeo-Jeong's character mother of the Park family named Choi Yeon-gyo. She is a stay at home mom who fusses over appearances. She is very rich and extravagant but also blissfully ignorant.
Director Bong described the character of Cho Yeo-Jeong as the rich mother's dreams of a world that is bright and very fresh but she's trapped in this glass box that she's made for herself.
You may have seen her from films like "The Concubine" (2012), "The Servant" (2010), "Obsessed" (2014), the "Target" (2014), and "Casa Amor: Exclusive for Ladies" (2015); and in TV shows including "Woman of 9.9 Billion" and "Ms. Perfect."
Lee Sun-Gyun
Role: Lee Sun-Gyun is Dong-ik also known as "Nathan," who is the leader of the Park family. His character is a powerful and wealthy software developer. He and Yeon-kyo have two wonderful children namely Da-Hye (Jung Ji-so) and Da-song (Hyun-jun Jung).
You may know him from movies or films like "A Hard Day" (2014), "All About My Wife" (2012), and "Bad Police" (2019). He also has some TV shows like "My Mister" and "My Wife's Having an Affair This Week."
Lee Jeong-Eun
Role: Lee Jeong Eun is Moon-Gwang, the Park residence housekeeper. She has been working for the family and their household for years. Lee Jeong Eun expressed her approach for her role stating that she remembers saying that it's going to be an interesting and strange film.
You may know her from "Okja" and "Mother." The same as Song Kang-ho, Lee has often worked with Director Bong on his past projects. She was also seen in 2016's "The Wailing," helmed and written by Hong-jin Na.
