"The Prime Minister and I" began its production with a script reading session with its cast and staff last October 22 at the KBS Annex Building in Seoul. Present during the event are director Lee So Yeon and script writers Kim Eun Hee and Yoon Eun Kyung.
Actor Lee Bum Soo will be the Prime Minister in the drama, and he said, "There are difficulties for me when I shoot, but I challenge myself and I triumph because of my will. I will act without inhibitions and work hard to be an actor who everyone aspires to work with."
Girls' Generation's Yoona will be portraying the lead female role, and she shared, "Although I am lacking in many areas, I look forward to learning a lot from my seniors. Please anticipate the drama."
Joining them during the script reading are Chae Jung Ah who will be portraying the role of a Chief Secretary, and Yoon Shi Yoon who will be an elite public official. The three kids of the prime minister will be played by child actors Choi Soo Han, Lee Do Hyun, Jeon Mis Seo, who lit up the set with their youthful charms.
Even before the production began, "The Prime Minister and I" has received much attention because of the controversial casting of Yoona and Lee Bum Soo, who have an age gap of twenty years, as love interests. Despite this, many are looking forward to their portrayal as a couple in the drama.
"The Prime Minister and I" will premiere on December 9, after the conclusion of "Future's Choice".
