Gone are the days when a woman who is betrayed by her husband just lets everything go without putting up a fight. The idea that women should only stay at home as housewives and that being federal agents are only for men have been quashed. These new and improved roles taken by these women go to show women are capable of doing what men can.
Actresses in their 40s and 50s are gaining much more noticeable roles compared to previous dramas where most of the plot is male-centered. Most roles they are portraying are realistic, which many women are able to relate. And the roles given to these women are strong and independent women who can survive life, even after all the sufferings from their previous or current relationships.
More and more women are empowered, and it's also thanks to those who advocate feminism and those who know that women can, too.
The following are current television drama series that highlight female power: "The World of the Married," starring Kim Hee-ae, SBS drama "Good Casting," featuring Choi Kang-hee, and tvN "When My Love Blooms," led by Lee Bo-young.
