Actor Yang Se Jong's management company Good People said last Thursday that he is scheduled to enter the military on May 12. The time and location of the actor's enlistment will not be divulged to protect his privacy.
According to reports, Yang Se Jong, 27, decided to put on hold his acting career to fulfil his military duties. The actor is yet to issue any statement.
Yang Se Jong's official debut was in the SBS drama, "Dr. Romantic" (2016), and has appeared in shows, namely "Temperature of Love" (2017) and "My Country: The New Age" (2019). And just recently, he did a cameo appearance on the hit series "Dr. Romantic 2."
South Korean actor and model Yang Se Jong was born on December 23, 1992, in Anyang, Gyeonggi. The actor worked at a book and DVD rental store as a part-time job when he was in his first two years of high school. After his experience of watching school plays with his friends, he started to dream of becoming an actor. Then, in the year 2012, he enrolled in Korea National University of Arts, majoring in Theater and Film.
He won the Best New Actor awards at the SBS Drama Awards, Baeksang Arts Awards, and the 6th APAN Star Awards through his 2017 romance drama titled "Temperature of Love." Yang Se Jong starred in a romantic comedy-drama titled "Still 17" in 2018 playing the role of a stage designer who suffers a trauma at the age of seventeen.
Yang Se Jong portrayed the characters of young Song Seung-Heon and Lee Young-ae's assistant in SBS's historical drama "Saimdang, Memoir of Colors" in 2017. The same year he was cast in OCN's sci-fi thriller "Duel," as a result of his acting in this project, he gained a lot of praise for his portrayal of three different characters. Yang Se Jong was labeled as "monster rookie" by the press after his acting roles.
In 2019, he starred in the historical action drama titled "My Country."
