Not all heroes wear capes, they say. Some are regular people who go out of their way to help those who are in need. A few celebrities humble themselves and show people that despite their popularity, they are generous and benevolent and would do things you don't expect a public figure to do.
The best example is the "Running Man" star, Lee Kwang Soo.
Lee Kwang Soo is not only an actor but also an entertainer and a model. He first appeared in the sitcom "Here He Comes" in 2008.
He began to be recognized for his roles in the medical melodrama, "It's Okay, That's Love," sitcom "The Sound of Your Heart," "Live," and in films "Confession," "Collective Invention," and "Inseparable Bros." Later on, he was even given the nickname "Prince of Asia."
Not only is he loved for his comical personality, but there are other reasons behind why he is one of the many celebrities who are loved in Korea.
His colleagues have been vocal about his extremely kind personality, and many celebrities can attest to that. With all the stresses an actor or actress have, they sometimes find it challenging to smile and appear kind when they are out in public.
Lee Kwang Soo's kindness has been captured on-cam on how he has been very considerate with the people around, especially with his co-stars. He even became a talk in the town when he was seen picking up trash during a movie screening. He is definitely environment conscious, which isn't really a usual sight that a celebrity does such an act in public.
Instead of receiving gifts for his birthday, he decided to give them all away for those children in need.
One of his well-known stories was way back in 2009. While he was out, he noticed an elderly couple who were severely hurt next to a man who appears to be drunk. He did not hesitate to call the police right there and then gave his testimony to help the couple.
Do you think he would just stop there? No. He actually went further and chose to stand as a witness for the elderly couple in the court amidst his busy schedule at that time. He did it to help the couple win the case because he was afraid that the elderly couple might not find justice.
This was really a heroic act that we can't see everyday, especially from a celebrity.
And as the saying goes, "A hero is a real person or a main fictional character who, in the face of danger, combats adversity through feats of ingenuity, courage or strength."
