While the Friday-Saturday drama "Backstreet Rookie" continues to rise in ratings, Ji Chang Wook, from a sloppy Choi Dae Hyun, took over the small screen by showing the essence of "comedy romance" with his ability to immerse himself into his character.

In the 3rd and 4th episodes, which aired on the 27th and 28th, respectively, Dae Hyun (Ji Chang Wook) misunderstood and solved the misunderstanding again about Saet-Byul (Kim Yoo Jung). And while doing so, the actor attracted viewers by showing another charm, different from his clumsy and amicable appearance.

Dae Hyun showed his friendly character by honestly telling Yeon Ju (Han Sun Hwa), who misunderstood Saet-Byul, his thoughts. He confronted the drunk customer and said, "Sexual molester, apologize to our part-timer." In this scene, he sided with Saet-Byul while being level-headed and mature.

In particular, Dae Hyun's maturity, as he attempts to resolve the conflict, made viewers' hearts aflutter. When he knew it was a misunderstanding, he immediately apologized to the Saet-Byul and heartily expressed his concern, "Why can't you trust anyone? You know me. I'll believe you."

Ji Chang Wook sprinkled additional and unexpected charm of Dae Hyun's character - a person who's capable of being affectionate - who was initially just sloppy and comical.

Meanwhile, the 32-year-old star is being praised for his real-life and comical acting in "Backstreet Rookie." In the drama, when he's together with his family (Kim Sun Young, Lee Byung Joon, and Kim Ji Hyun), they depict a real-life familial warmth and exude laughter.

On top of that, Ji Chang Wook is continuously entertaining and touching, including his sweet narration, adorable dance, vocal mimicry, and parody of "Pulp Fiction," making viewers fall in love with his acting skills that have completely melted into "a mild-tasting character."

SBS's "Backstreet Rookie," which shows the true value of Ji Chang Wook's romantic-comedy skills, airs every Friday and Saturday at 10:00 p.m. KST.
