August 2020: These Upcoming K-Dramas Will Feature Strong and Inspiring Women

August is just around the corner, and a new set of a Korean dramas are about to knock on our doors! This upcoming month, new dramas will be featuring strong and interesting women that we all should anticipate.

A lineup of actresses will grace our small screens with their visuals and great acting skills. And in these trying times, these ladies will definitely inspire us to be tough and optimistic amid disarray.

Below is the list of forthcoming dramas with strong women who are slated to captivate us next month!

Do Do Sol Sol La La Sol

This romantic comedy series will air this coming August 26 under KBS2 and also on Netflix. It's a story of a young woman who perceives only happiness and simplicity of life. Goo Ra Ra, played by Go Ara, is a lively pianist who experienced her family's downfall. While entering a new journey with music, she gets to know the mysterious Sun Woo Joon (Lee Jae Wook) and falls in love with him.

When I Was Most Beautiful

This drama will air this August 19 under MBC network, featuring a love triangle between two brothers and a woman. In character as Oh Ye Ji (Im Soo Hyang), she is a pure-hearted and optimistic lady who fell into an embroiled love triangle between two siblings. Oh Ye Ji shows her character to be hardworking, determined, and won't give up no matter what happens.

Alice

SBS's supernatural drama "Alice" will air on August 28. Yoon Tae Yi (Kim Hee Sun) is a genius physicist who is devoted to uncovering the mysteries behind time traveling. She rediscovers this journey wth Park Jin Gyeom (Joo Won), a brilliant detective.

"Alice" is a melodrama and sci-fi combined into one to give viewers the best of Kim Hee Sun and Joo Won. This is also the actress's comeback drama after two years, while Joo Won's return as his last drama was in 2017.

SF8

"SF8" is a unique sci-fi anthology drama that will begin airing on August 14 via MBC. It's a show of compilations of eight single-episode shows, tackling various themes, starring Korean actresses with their inspiring and strong characters.

SF8: "Joan's Galaxy"

SF8: "Manxin"

SF8: "White Crow"

SF8: "Love Virtually"

SF8: "Empty Body"

In one episode, like the "Joan's Galaxy," it features Kim Bo Ra tackling life's uncertainty. Actress Lee Yun Hee will be in character as a female shaman in "Manxin".

Each episode holds more than 50 minutes as each story unfolds with its unique plot, selected lead cast, and creative directors with their scriptwriters.
