Kim Go Eun's Charming Film "Untact" Released Today

Samsung has finally unveiled the 8K movie 'Untact', which was filmed with a Galaxy smartphone and watched on a QLED TV.

"Untact," directly written and directed by award-winning director Kim Ji Woon, is a short romance film that reflects a society where the pandemic has normalized "untact" communication or "non-face to face" communication. Actors Kim Go Eun and Kim Joo Heon took the lead roles in this film.

The emotional story of Sujin (Kim Go Eun), who runs a ceramic art workshop and enjoys VLOGs, and Seonghyun (played by Kim Jo -Heon), who returned to Korea after three years of studying abroad, is addressed palpably through this film. Within the background of the "new normal" era in which non-face-to-face has become commonplace, Samsung Electronics explained that it contains a message that the emotions of love cannot be isolated even if people are separated other.

Director Kim Ji Woon said, "It's a new way of trying, so it's a burden, but we're excited to present a work that will enter the 8K era with Samsung Electronics," he said.

Kim Go Eun said, "Please pay attention to the unique visual beauty and in-depth acting that 8K quality shows," and actor Kim Joo Heon said, "The way people who cannot meet each other and have to communicate across the screen wall will arouse sympathy for many audiences." The actress celebrated her first project since The King: Eternal Monarch by uploading breathtaking photos of herself while on set for the film.

Kim Go Eun has also been cast in South Korea's first-ever musical film Hero, based on the hit musical Youngwoong. The film is based on the life of activist An Jung-Geun following the assassination of Itō Hirobumi. Kim plays the role of a former Gungnyeo turned Geish, who becomes a part of the Korean independence movement. The movie was originally scheduled to premiere in July 2020 but was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
