Backstreet Rookie actress Kim Yoo Jung also accepted the project offer to star in a new fantasy romance drama, titled "Hong Chun Gi" alongside Ahn Hyo Seop!
It was previously reported that actor Ahn Hyo Seop has officially joined the upcoming historical drama "Hong Chun Gi." He is said to portray the character of Ha Ram, a unique astrologer. He is blind but has the ability to read the stars despite having lost his sight.
Along with Ahn Hyo Seop's confirmation to star in the drama, is the speculation that Kim Yoo Jung will also star in the drama. It is now confirmed that the actress will star in the lead role in "Hong Chun Gi." On the other hand, Kim Yoo Jung will portray the character of the titular role of "Hong Chun Gi," the only female painter in the Joseon dynasty. She was who was born blind but miraculously gained vision.
"Hong Chun Gi" is a historical drama that is set during the Joseon dynasty era. The drama is based on the novel of the same name written by the author Jung Eun Gwol, the person behind "Sungkyunkwan Scandal" and "The Moon Embracing the Sun," which were also adapted into dramas that became a massive hit. And the drama will be helmed by director Jang Tae Yoo who also worked for "My Love from the Star," "Hyena," and more.
Another actor is in talks to star in the drama, and it is Gong Myung who is said to star as the other male lead. "Hong Chun Gi" is set to air sometime next year.
