"The Uncanny Counter" actor Jo Byeong Gyu is on his way to wider stardom for he is now in talks to play another lead role in tvN's new and forthcoming historical drama.
In the continuous success of the drama "The Uncanny Counter" for its record-breaking viewership ratings, one of its young stars continues to make progress in his acting career. Jo Byeong Gyu, who plays the role of So Mun in the said series, has been lauded for his amazing performances. May it be in comedy, drama, or action-filled scenes, he can totally ace every role assigned to him!
According to a representative from the drama industry on Jan. 13, Jo Byeong Gyu, if he accepts the project, will be appearing in tvN's new historical drama "Tale of the Secret Royal Inspector and Jo Yi." And in response to the said report, the actor's agency HB Entertainment released their statement regarding their artist.
"Our artist Jo Byeong Gyu has received an offer to star in the new historical drama of tvN 'Tale of the Secret Royal Inspector and Jo Yi and he is currently reviewing the project."
It has been said that director Yoo Jong Sun will be directing the drama and it will be penned by writer Lee Jae Yoon. After the decision has been made of who will be part of the final cast, the production team will start filming, and the drama is scheduled to air in the second half of 2021.
"Tale of the Secret Royal Inspector" is about secret royal inspectors whose duty is to go undercover and unveil the corruption happening in their place. If Jo Byeong Gyu accepts the offer, he is said to play the character of Ra Yi Eon or Ryan, the youngest secret royal inspector who is smart enough to top in the state exams.
Yi Eon may be an attractive man with beautiful and glittering eyes, he has a problem of what to pursue in the future. He is not sure of what he wants to be.
Viewers, especially the fans of the young actor, are already excited to see him again in another drama and in a new role. Ever since the drama "The Uncanny Counter" premiered, audiences also began to notice this talented actor.
The 24-year-old star also appeared and made amazing acting performances in "Sky Castle," "Hot Stove League," "Dokgo Rewind," and a guest role in the historical-fantasy drama of Song Joong Ki, "Arthdal Chronicles."
Jo Byeong Gyu is also set to appear in the upcoming third season of Netflix's whodunnit show "Busted," where his "The Uncanny Counter" co-star Sejeong is a mainstay.
