It will be an expensive year to all the K-drama fans out there! Get to know some of the new and upcoming Korean dramas that have allotted big budget for production.

Wonder why most of the Korean dramas are getting bigger and packed with the grandest production? It is because, as the audience engage themselves in watching more Korean content, the more investors from all over the world are also getting interested to be involved in the process of making the project.

"With great power, comes great responsibility," a famous line from the movie spiderman. And it can be applicable to anyone living in this world, just like how the industry of Korean drama evolved through the years. The bigger the cast and production, the great start to invest financially.

Now that we are living in a world where technology plays a big part in our daily life, more and more platforms are being available so that the viewers can choose where they can comfortably watch their favorite movies and series.

This 2021, here are some of the expensive K-dramas that you need to know!

"Vincenzo"

The power that Song Joong Ki holds has been seen through the years. From "Descendants of the Sun" to his newly released series "Vincenzo," both have big funds for its production. It has been revealed that the estimated budget for this drama is 20 billion Korean won or almost 18 million US dollars.

From the pilot episode of "Vincenzo," which is filmed in the beautiful and extravagant city in Italy, to the luxurious mansion, suits, and cars that Song Joong Ki had, it was just some of the things that caught the eye of the viewers. Even Song Joong Ki's pajamas are expensive!

"Sisyphus: The Myth"

Other prominent actors returned on the small screen, Park Shin Hye and Cho Seung Woo. "Sisyphus: The Myth" has an allotted budget of almost 20 billion Korean won, same as with "Vincenzo."

During its first four episodes, it can be observed that the production really cost a lot. From the materials, new technology, machines, and locations used in drama are really jaw-dropping.

"Mount Jiri"

One of the much-awaited and star-studded dramas of the year is "Mount Jiri," starring prominent actors Ju Ji Hoon and "Legend of the Blue Sea" actress Jun Ji Hyun.

It has been said that their production to have 30 billion Korean won (estimated). It is scheduled to air in the first half of 2021. The drama will be directed by Lee Eung Bok, and the script will be penned by writer Kim Eun Hye.

"Ask the Stars"

KeyEast entertainment forthcoming series "Ask the Stars" is estimated to cost 40 billion Korean won. This is said to be the first-ever space Korean drama, and it took almost three years to prepare. Writer Seo Sook Hyang will pen the script; she is also the person behind the dramas "Don't Dare to Dream," "Wok of Love," and "Pasta."

This new drama "Ask the Stars" has a romantic-comedy genre that will depict the story of a space tourist and an astronaut. A big portion of the budget will be used for the space station set.

These are just some of the ongoing and upcoming Korean dramas that are way more expensive than the usual Korean content.
