"River Where the Moon Rises" Episode 9: The Palace Wants Princess Pyeonggang to Get Married

Upon knowing she was about to be married to someone she doesn't have feelings for, Princess Pyeonggang rushed to her father - the king - and protested. But her father threatened her that if she disobeys his orders, she would no longer be recognized as his daughter.

In order to avoid the arranged marriage and to get revenge on Go Won Pyo, who killed his father, On Dal hid his identity to enter the palace. He unfortunately failed because Go Gun recognized him and revealed that he is the son of On Hyeob (Kang Ha Neul).

Go Won Pyo Failed to Get What He Wants

When the Princess learned On Dal was within the palace, she looked for him and used it as a chance to escape from her current situation. On Dal and Princess Pyeonggang went to the king and put on an act that they are married.

The king and his people were dumbfounded with the Princess' unexpected news. Go Won Pyo was not prepared for Pyeonggang's show. When the king found out that On Dal was the son of the late On Hyeob, he suddenly slapped her daughter for disgracing the imperial family again. He announced that he will no longer recognize Pyeonggang as his daughter and should leave the palace right away.

Princess Pyeonggang packed her things and followed On Dal to his place. The two will start to live as husband and wife. But before Pyeonggang left, she went first to Hae Mo Yong (Choi Yu Hwa) to ask for her cooperation. They made an alliance to get revenge on Go Won Pyo.

Pyeonggang gained the trust of Hae Mo Yong, and in return, she will update the princess about everything Go Won Pyo does inside the palace.

While waiting for Pyeonggang, On Dal was resting in the forest when Go Gun suddenly appeared in front of him, asking for a fight because he still couldn't accept that Princess Pyeonggang chose to be with On Dal instead of him.

While they were on a scuffle, Pyeonggang came and tried to stop the two from hurting each other. She asked On Dal to leave first because she wanted to talk with Go Gun.

Go Gun's face was covered in blood. He was furious to have been defeated by On Dal. He started to voice out his anger and expressed that he has been there for the princess for eight years, and yet he didn't get her heart.

Go Gun said that he has not yet started at all but he already failed to prove his love to the princess. Pyeonggang asked him to stop forcing himself because she doesn't have feelings for him. She ended up embracing Go Gun and felt sorry for him that she cannot give the same amount of love that he had for her.
