Kwon Yuri and Jung Il Woo Team-Up

Back in August 2020, SM Entertainment revealed that Girls' Generation's shining black pearl, Yuri, is courted to star in a period drama series. At the time, the "Gee" hitmaker was positively considering the offer and was said to be her first historical drama after two years on hiatus.

She last appeared in the 2018 show "the sound of your heart reboot" as the webtoon writer's girlfriend, Ae-Bong, followed by the romantic comedy "Jang-Geum, Oh My Grandma."

The same goes with "Hot Ramen" star Jung Il Woo, who has been offered the main role of Ba Woo.

He is best known for his notable shows, including his breakthrough role as Lee Yoon Ho in the 2006 sitcom "Unstoppable High Kick" as well as drama series such as "The Return of Iljimae" "49 Days," "Moon Embracing the Sun," Cinderella with Four Knights" and more.

"Bossam - Stealing Fate" Release and Synopsis

Slated to premiere on May 1, the upcoming drama is set under King Gwanghaegun's ruling during the Joseon dynasty.

It follows the story of Princess Soo Kyung, who was accidentally abducted by Ba Woo, who engages himself in bossam or the practice of customary remarriage where a widow is being kidnapped in exchange for money.

At the time, widows were forbidden to remarry. Hence, there are several accounts of kidnapping that are said to be agreed upon in advance while others were by force.

Aside from the duo, "Bossam - Stealing Fate" includes a powerhouse cast such as Shin Hyun Soo, who will portray the role of Lee Dae Yeob, Kim Tae Woo as Prince Gwanghae, Lee Jae Yong as Lee Yi Cheom, and So Hee Jung for the part of Soui Yoon
