Super Junior's Kangin makes an acting comeback with the film "The Cat Funeral".

His agency SM Entertainment confirmed the news of his casting, and Kangin will be portraying the main character Dong Hoon, an indie musician.

According to representatives from the movie, "The main character Dong Hoon is someone who has multiple charms as an indie musician. As a person who has proved himself in terms of acting, singing and playing the guitar, we decided that Kangin is the best person for the role. At the same time, he is also capable of portraying acting and strength through his eyes."

Fans are excited about this new venture for Kangin, especially since it's been years since his last acting project. The idol-actor was previously seen in the movies "Attack on the Pin-up Boys", "Hello Schoolgirl", as well as in the drama "Romance Zero".

Based on a popular web cartoon, "The Cat Funeral" revolves around the story of a separated couple who reunites for two days and one night to hold a funeral for the departed cat they raised together.

It is directed by Lee Jong Hoon and produced by Octopus Pictures. Actress Park Se Young will be acting together with Kangin as his ex-girlfriend.

The movie will begin its production this November, and will premiere in early 2014.
