Actor Lee Byung Hun to Collaborate with Novelist Maureen Goo
According to various media reports from Hollywood and in South Korea, actor Lee Byung Hun is rumored to produce the romance film "I Believe In A Thing Called Love" written by Korean-American novelist Maureen Goo.
On July 20, Lee Byung Hun's agency BH Entertainment released an announcement confirming the actor's participation in the production of the upcoming project. According to the agency, "Yes, it is true that actor Lee Byung Hun is participating in the production of 'I Believe In A Thing Called Love.' And he is currently considering appearing in the film."
The famous online streaming platform Netflix has acquired the feature film rights to Maureen Goo's famous romance novel "I Believe In A Thing Called Love." The story is about a senior high school student, Desi, who tries to follow the laws of K-drama romances to find herself a boyfriend.
The "Mr.Sunshine" actor is still in discussion to play the role of Desi's father.
Recently, Lee Byung Hun attended the prestigious Cannes Film Festival in France along with the top stars in the K-Entertainment industry, namely Director Han Jae Rim, “Parasite” actor Song Kang Ho, and “Run On” star Im Siwan.
The said artists were the ones to represent the movie “Emergency Declaration” which was invited to non-competition categories.

Meet the Asian Team to Produce I Believe In A Thing Called Love
BH Entertainment's Charles Park will produce the film alongside Lee Byung Hun and Mary Lee of A-Major Media. The author of the book, Maureen Goo will join the team to executive produce the upcoming film.
Meanwhile, one of the producers, Mary Lee shared that Maureen found an interesting way to tap into the exciting and fun world of K-dramas through the point of view of a girl who learns that life is something a person can't control.
The creative mind who penned the romance novel Maureen Goo also shared her excitement about the film adaptation of her work. According to her, " 'I Believe In A Thing Called Love' has finally found a home with Netflix! And I am very proud of my awesome team, A-Major, Yulin Kuang, and BH Entertainment."
Maureen Goo even posted on her Instagram, proving how grateful she is to be working with such an amazing team soon.
