The global drama series 'Pachinko' is based on a novel of the same name written by Korean-American author Min Jin Lee.
'Pachinko' tells the story of four generations of a poor Korean immigrant family fighting to control their destiny in Japan. It is a masterpiece that tackles themes such as power, racism, stereotyping, and discrimination, which are still relevant up to this day in the 21st century.

The 38-year-old actor will be playing the role of 'Joseph', a hard-working factory worker who lives in Ikaino, Osaka where most Koreans in Osaka live. He is the sole provider of his family.
Han Jun Woo in His Previous Projects and His First Step Into The United States
Han Jun Woo made his small screen debut with JTBC's 2019 romantic comedy-drama series 'Be Melodramatic' with Cheon Woo Hee, Jeon Yeo Bin, Han Ji Eun, and Gong Myung. He left a strong impression as he played the role of Hong Dae, Eun Jung's (Jeon Yeo Bin) deceased boyfriend who usually appears in her dreams.

He also gained praise and attention for his acting prowess as a villain with two different sides in SBS' 2020 legal drama 'Hyena' and acting as a young Jung Jinyoung in tvN's 'My Unfamiliar Family'.
Afterward, actor Han Jun Woo showed a different side of him in KBS2's political romantic comedy-drama series 'Into The Ring' and MBC's romance drama 'Love Scene Number.'
Han Jun Woo is expected to broaden his acting spectrum as an actor with his first challenge with 'Pachinko' in the United States.

Han Jun Woo works for the first time with experienced and seasoned actors Yoon Yeo Jeong who starred in 'Sense8' and Jung Woong In, who appeared in several hit dramas 'I Can Hear Your Voice' 'Pinocchio,' and 'Prison Playbook.'
He will also collaborate with South Korea' top Hallyu star Lee Min Ho who took on main roles in numerous top-rating television series 'Boys Over Flowers', 'City Hunter', 'The Heirs', and 'Legend of the Blue Sea'.
The global drama project is produced by world-class cast members from Korea, Japan, and the United States. 'Pachinko' also features Japanese-New Zealand actress Anna Sawai and Korean-Japanese actress Kaho Minami.
Being around these sterling, fresh, and international actors, Han Jun Woo will surely improve his acting skills and widen his acting range in the film industry.
'Pachinko' and What We Know For Now
The global drama project 'Pachinko' will be conducted in three languages: Korean, Japanese, and English.
It is a global masterpiece containing a total of eight episodes and is produced by Media Res and Blue Marble Pictures. 'Pachinko' is helmed by filmmakers Kogonada, Justin Chon, and Soo Hugh.
Filming began in 2020 in Korea, Japan, and America. On Feb. 6, 2021, filming began in Canada that lasted until April. Its released date is yet to be announced.
'Pachinko' is scheduled to air in AppleTV+ this 2021.
