'The Pirates: Goblin Flag'

The upcoming movie is the second installment from the 2014 "The Pirates," which stars Kim Nam Gil and Son Ye Jin.

Almost eight years after the movie was released, Lotte Entertainment is set to launch the sequel titled "The Pirates: Goblin Flag" with a whole new cast.

Premiering exactly on New Year's Day, January 1, 2022, viewers would get to see the star-studded cast of the adventure fantasy series featuring Kang Ha Neul, Lee Kwang Soo, Han Hyo, Chae Soo Bin, Kwon Sang Woo, Oh Se Hun and more.

Set under the Goryeo dynasty, "The Pirates: Goblin Flag" follows the journey of a group of bandits and their mission to find the treasure of the royal family.

Another movie premiering this week is "A Year-End Medley," which boasts a roster of South Korea's biggest stars.

It follows the story of individuals who are all connected with Hotel Emross, with some getting what they're looking for.

Slated to hit the big screen and TVING on December 29, "A Year-End Medley" is headlined by Lee Dong Wook, Han Ji Min, Kim Young Kwang, Go Sung Hee, Kang Ha Neul, "Hellbound" actress Won Jin Ah, Lee Kwang Soo, Lee Jin Wook, Girl's Generation's YoonA and more.

'Snowdrop'

From movies, we now move to Kdrama with "Snowdrop" airing its six episodes on January 1.

Amid the controversy, Jung Hae In and BLACKPINK Jisoo's melodrama achieved its all-time high viewership rating after it peaked at 7.28 percent and scored a nationwide rating of 2.75 percent.

To recall, the previous episode showed Im Su Ho, portrayed by Jung Hae In, escaping the dormitory with the help of Young Ro, played by BLACKPINK's Jisoo.

With only two more episodes until the historical Kdrama bid their farewell, "The Red Sleeve Cuff" is still unbeatable in the most buzzworthy drama and actor rankings.

Lee Se Young and 2PM's Junho also teased fans during their radio interview regarding the finale of the MBC drama.

The lead stars shared that thrilling scenes are about to unravel between Sung Deok Im and Yi San.

Interestingly, the singer-actor also hints at ad-libbing in some of the scripts.

"The Red Sleeve Cuff" episode 16 and the finale episode will both air on January 1.

"Bulgasal: Immortal Souls" episode 5 is set to air on January 1 at 8:00 pm exclusively on Netflix.
