In a new interview, "Twenty Five, Twenty One" star Choi Hyun Wook revealed how he managed to get the spot and be part of the drama lineup.

Even at the infancy of his career, Choi Hyun Wook already showed his potential. Despite entering show business in 2021, he was quick to steal the spotlight and even bagged his first-ever Best New Actor award at the 2021 SBS Drama Awards for his outstanding performance in "Racket Boys" and "Taxi Driver."

Choi Hyun Wook shared in his interview how memorable it was to receive such a big achievement for a rookie actor like him.

He said, "When I started acting, I really dreamed of winning the Best New Actor award. I always imagined that moment inside my mind, and even more because at that time the Best New Actor award was still far away from me."

The rising star added that since he was still new in the field, he felt a lot of pressure and responsibility already after receiving the award.

How Choi Hyun Wook Became Part of 'Twenty Five, Twenty One'

The "Jirisan" actor also shared how he got the role of Moon Ji Woong in the ongoing romance drama "Twenty Five, Twenty One."

He shared, "It was midsummer when I auditioned for the drama. I wore a leather jacket because Ji Woong is a fashion trend setter. When I am nervous, my face sweats a lot. At that moment when I already started acting, sweat poured down my face."

He added that the director kept on telling him "Keep going" and thought he already failed the audition. Choi Hyun Wook was surprised when the director immediately said, "This is Ji Woong."

The promising star shared that his goofy side suits his character well.

"There are some funny moments of Ji Woong because he speaks straightforwardly," the young actor revealed.

Hyun Wook added that the drama's director said he liked him because he was able to say his lines seriously and even told Choi Hyun Wook that he was the funniest.

Just being him during the audition made Choi Hyun Wook land the character of Moon Ji Woong. His authentic personality attracted the director and saw him as the perfect actor to portray the role.

Thanks to his humor and talent, Choi Hyun Wook is now gaining more fans as he continues to grace the weekend primetime with Nam Joo Hyuk, Kim Tae Ri, WJSN Bona in "Twenty Five, Twenty One."
