'Twenty Five, Twenty One' Episode 1: Na Hee Do Pushes Forward To Reach Her Dreams
Set in the present time, the drama begins with Na Hee Do (Kim So Hyun) sending her daughter Kim Min Chae (Choi Myung Bin) to her prestigious ballet competition with pride as a former athlete.
However, Min Chae longs to quit ballet. She then runs away to her grandmother. Min Chae finds her mother's old diary that takes her on a journey to the past.
In 1998, Hee Do (Kim Tae Ri), a fencing prodigy, throws a fit as her fencing team gets stripped off their sports funds after the IMF financial crisis strikes.
To continue her love for sports, she decides to transfer to gold medalist Go Yu Rim's (Bona) school, the fencer she idolizes the most.
Hee Do then meets Baek Yi Jin (Nam Joo Hyuk), a handsome guy who works at her local comic book rental shop, who has an intriguing past.
'Twenty Five, Twenty One' Episode 2: Na Hee Do Sees Her Idol's True Colors
In episode 2, Hee Do becomes one step closer to her dreams after Tae Yang High's fencing team coach Chan Mi (Kim Hye Eun) takes her under her care. Unbeknownst to her, she's her mother's old friend.
Hee Do becomes friends with Moon Ji Woong (Choi Hyun Wook), the school's "pretty boy" and top student Ji Seung Wan (Lee Joo Myung).
Interestingly, Yu Rim and Yijin know each other, complicating things between them even more. She also beats the former in a practice match.

The second episode of the drama also shows Yi Jin's hardships - from being a well-off kid to becoming a breadwinner as the IMF crisis sent their family business bankrupt.

'Twenty Five, Twenty One' Episode 3: Opportunities Come To Na Hee Do and Baek Yi Jin
Seung Wan, who happens to be Yi Jin's landlady's daughter, recognizes him as his broadcasting alumnus. Meanwhile, Ji Woong takes his chances in getting to know Yu Rim.
Great news visits Hee Do's door - she's given the chance to secure a spot for the national team. As this brings smiles to everyone's faces, Yu Rim becomes worried.
On her way to tell Yi Jin the good news, she sees a man looking for him. Hee Do forces him to hide and drives away the unexpected visitor.
To her horror, the man turns out to be Yi Jin's father. He then chases after him and promises to reunite their family someday.
At school, Hee Do and Yu Rim are once again in each other's throats. She rips off the latter's posters and photos on her desk as soon as she gets home.
Unbeknownst to her, Yu Rim's the same person behind "Injeolmi," her beloved friend online.
'Twenty Five, Twenty One' Episode 4: Hee Do, Yi Jin and the Others Bond For the First Time
Hee Do learns how to dance, an essential key to acquire perfect rhythm, with the help of Ji Woong. In return, she secretly puts a pine-flavored drink in Yu Rim's locker.
Yi Jin fails his job interview yet again. Thankfully, Hee Do knows how to cheer him up.

Hee Do, Yi Jin, Yu Rim, Ji Woong and Seung Wan learn that all of them are somehow connected and enjoy a hearty meal at Seung Wan's house.
Yu Rim goes back to NTC to prepare for her future competitions. Ji Woong makes sure he sends her off with a smile on her face. Meanwhile, Hee Do fences with coach Yang, the final level before she competes for the national team.
At the end of the episode, Hee Do and Yi Jin spend their precious time together at the gym, exchanging words of encouragement to keep on fighting despite life's unexpected challenges.
