Kim Young Dae and Lee Sung Kyung detail their working relationship as lead stars for the upcoming K-drama "Shooting Stars." The duo spills more secrets with their experience behind the scenes and filming the rom-com series as they graced Elle Korea.

The leads of "Shooting Stars," who also worked as models before debuting as actors, teased fans with their onscreen chemistry, flaunting their intense visuals and vibrant charms.

Lee Young Dae Says Lee Sung Kyung is Similar to Her 'Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo' Character

In 2016, K-drama fans were obsessed with the rom-com series "Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo," which stars Lee Sung Kyung and Nam Joo Hyuk.

The viewers witnessed their undeniable chemistry that even developed into a real romance.

Aside from fans, Kim Young Dae revealed that he was also a fan of the drama. He shared to Elle Korea that he "really enjoyed watching 'Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo.'"

Moreover, "The Penthouse" actor also pointed out how Lee Sung Kyung is the same as Book Joo in reality.

The 26-year-old rising star says that both his co-star and the K-drama character are "easy-going" and have a "bright" personality during filming.

In addition, he explained that like Book Joo "Sung Kyung noona cares about the people around her," adding that the male lead "often feels her sunbae vibes."

Being his senior, Kim Young Dae praised Lee Sung Kyung, saying that "there are a lot of things" that make him respect her.

In the 2016 MBC series, the 31-year-old actress played high school weightlifter Bok Joo, whose lifelong dream is to become a professional athlete until she meets Jung Joon Hyung, a fellow athlete and a member of the school's swim team.

The hit coming of age series revolves around the duo's budding relationship and struggle as they work hard to reach their goals in life.

Interestingly, it is based on the life story of South Korean Olympic weightlifter gold-medalist Jang Mi Ran.

In "Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo," the female lead possesses a bubbly and energetic personality which, for Kim Young, Dae resembles Lee Sung Kyung. No wonder she perfectly played the character.

Lee Sung Kyung on Working with Kim Young Dae

Speaking with Elle, the runway model-actress also shared her thoughts working with her co-star.

Lee Sung Kyung says that her first impression with Kim Young Dae was pretty much a "quiet person," but "it turned out that he jokes around a lot and he is also a bright guy," adding "he is sometimes cute, too."

Although they both have similar traits like what she said, they are "full of energy," Lee Sung Kyung says that she is a type of person "who says 'fighting!' out loud, while Young Dae is the type who encourages by approaching people one by one and cheering for them."

The duo are lead stars for the upcoming K-drama "Shooting Stars," where the actress plays PR team leader Oh Han Byul, who works closely with heartthrob Gong Tae Sung, played by Kim Young Dae.
