Cho Yi Hyun officially joins Yeo Jin Goo in the upcoming movie "Similar."
After weeks of discussion, the "All of Us Are Dead" actress and former child actor are about to headline a remake movie helmed by "Go Back" director Seo Eun Young.
Cho Yi Hyun and Yeo Jin Go Confirmed as Lead Stars in New Movie 'Similar'
According to Yonhap News, Cho Yi Hyun and Yeo Jin Goo will be the lead stars for "Similar."
It follows the story of a woman who is living in the late 1970s whose life is intertwined with a man living in the present time after two individuals were accidentally connected through an old radio.
Yeo Jin Goo took on the role of Yong, a returning student from the mechanical engineering department. The 22-year-old actress will portray Moo Nui, a social studies student from the class of 2021.
Interestingly, the upcoming film is a remake of a movie released 22 years ago.
Aside from the two lead stars, Kim Hye Yoon from "Snowdrop" and "River Where the Moon Rises," star Na In Woo is also courted to join the cast.
If Kim Hye Yoon accepts the offer, she will play Yong's first love named Hansol. Na In Woo, on the other hand, will be Moo Nui's best friend, Young Ji.
As mentioned, director Seo Eun Young, who scored a Daemyung Culture Wave Award at the 20th BIFF (Busan International Film Festival) through her film "Overman," is gearing up to start production in the first half of this year.
Life After 'All of Us Are Dead' Craze
"Similar" will be Cho Yi Hyun's big-screen comeback after starring in the 2019 film "Metamorphosis" with Baek Sung Woo, Jang Young Nam, "Kingdom" actress Kim Hye Joon and veteran actor Sung Dong Il.
Interestingly, K-drama fans knew the rising star after landing the role of medical intern Jang Yoon Bok in the smash hit medical series "Hospital Playlist."
While fans are looking forward to the drama's season 3, Cho Yi Hyun headlined the cast of "School 2021." This is her first-ever lead role in a K-drama.

However, her career skyrocketed in an instant after joining the cast of Netflix's "All of Us Are Dead."

The 22-year-old actress proved her versatility after playing the role of class president turned half-human and half-zombie Choi Nam Ra.
There is no denying that the blockbuster Netflix series has opened a lot of doors for the actress as she is also in talks to star in the upcoming webtoon-based series "Vampire Chef."
