The South Korean star is currently in the Philippines, filming his upcoming K-drama "Casino" with Lee Dong Hwi and "Squid Game" cast Heo Sung Tae and Kim Joo Ryoung.
During his virtual interview, Son Seok Koo says that he has been in the country for more than a month. He has been getting feedback on "My Liberation Notes" through the news noting the degree of popularity felt in the Philippines.
Viewers are lauding his undeniable chemistry and slow-burn romance with Mr.Gu, played by Son Seok Koo, and Yeom Mi Jung, portrayed by Kim Ji Won.

While the JTBC melodrama is currently airing, Son Seok Koo's new movie "The Roundup" also premiered on May 18.
The action-packed film stars Choi Gwi Hwa and Ma Dong Seok, who also doubles as the movie's producer.
Helmed by directors Kang Yoon Sung and Lee Sang Yong, "The Roundup" is a sequel to the 2017 box office movie "The Outlaws."
In the movie, Son Seok Koo took on the role of villain Gang Hae Sang.
As the interview continues, the versatile actor says that he plays two different characters in "My Liberation Notes" and "The Roundup."
While his two projects aired at the same time, Son Seok Koo believes that viewers will see the different side of him as an actor as he plays two contradicting roles.
When asked about his thought regarding his K-drama and film, he said that he wants to be remembered as Mr. Gu rather than Gang Hae Sang.
He explained that it is nice to be recalled with a "softer" image as his role in "My Liberation Notes" instead of the "very vicious" appearance of his character in "The Roundup."
Just days after the release of Son Seok Koo's movie, the action-packed film kicks off with a record-setting start.
As obtained by Korea Herald, the Korean Film Council (KOFIC) shared that the sequel to "The Outlaws" garnered an estimated 467,000 viewers during its debut, and around 89 percent of the tickets sold on the day of the release.
