"The Roundup" which stars Ma Dong Seok, Son Seok Koo and Choi Gwi Hwa is setting the bar for upcoming pandemic movies.
Following its successful release, the action crime film scores another achievement as it continues its streak in the box office.

As the industry slowly returns to its state, moviegoers are back in the theater, to watch the latest film airing on the big screen.
With almost two years since the pandemic started, reports noted that "The Roundup" has become the Korean film that garnered the most audiences during the COVID-19 pandemic.
As noted by Star News, the action-crime movie, which is a sequel to the 2017 film "The Outlaws" has surpassed 4 million moviegoers since it was released on May 18. It means hat the sequel gained 4. 5 million tickets for the past eight days.
According to the outlet, Yeongjinwi cinema ticket integrated computer network shared that "The Roundup" mobilized 342,308 moviegoers on May 25, raking a total of 4,53,334 viewers and counting.

In addition, the sequel also surpassed the achievement of Lee Jung Jae and hwang Jung Min's movie "Deliver Us From Evil," which reportedly broke the record for the highest box office hit for a Korean film since the COVID-19 pandemic.
Moreover, another achievement from "The Roundup" team was beating the 2019's "Parasite" by scoring the highest opening of a Korean film. It came after Ma Dong Seok and Son Seok Koo's movie surpassed 1 million on the 2nd day of release.
'The Roundup' Cast, Worldwide Release Date and More
The "beast cop" returns as Ma Dong Seok a.k.a Don Lee reprised his role as the fearless detective Ma Suk Do.
Four years after their group's operation in Garibong-dong, Ma Suk Do and his men travel to Vietnam to extradite criminals, led by the new villain Son Seok Koo.
While "The Outlaws" rakes box office, it seems like "The Roundup" is also following its footsteps, raking millions of moviegoers.
In addition, the SCMP even gave the second installment a 4 out of 5 score, noting a "riotously entertaining sequel to 2017 action thriller 'The Outlaws.'"
Aside from Ma Dong Seok and the new villain Son Seok Koo, "The Roundup" cast also includes Choi Gwi Hwa as Chief Jeon and Kim Seung Hyun as the Korean gangster Avatar.
On the other hand, the Korean American actor, also announced that the movie will be released worldwide.
Ma Dong Seok Instagram posts the dates and countries where fans could catch "The Roundup." It includes North America (USA and Canada,) Taiwan and Mongolia all on May 20.
Singapore and Hong Kong will be on May 26, while Indonesia, Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia, and the Philippines will be in June.
