Following its premiere at the 74th Cannes Film Festival, "Emergency Declaration," starring Song Kang Ho, Jeon Do Yeon, and more, is slated to be released in theaters.
On June 7, reports noted that the film's distributor, Showbox Entertainment, had officially announced the release date.
In addition, they also unveiled two posters, teasing fans about the movie's upcoming debut.
'Emergency Declaration' to Hit Big Screens
As obtained by Ten Asia, the action thriller film is scheduled to hit the big screen in August 2022.
Moreover, the official posters hint at a realistic scenario of an aviation disaster.
Helmed by "The King" and "Money Game" director Han Jae Rim, "Emergency Declaration" depicts the experience of a group of people on the verge of their death after an aircraft faces a disaster.
With hundreds of passengers, the plane heads to Hawaii; however, the captain declared an unconditional landing due to unprecedented aviation terrorism.
The action-thriller movie features a star-studded cast, including Song Kang Ho, Jeon Do Yeon, Lee Byung Hun, Kim Nam Gil, Im Si Wan, and more.
In the drama, Song Kang Ho plays detective In Ho, working alongside the crisis management director, played by Park Hae Joon.

Kim Nam Gil, Jeon Do Yeon, and Kim So Jin worked as airplane officials, while Lee Byung Hun and Im Si Wan were among the passengers.
'Emergency Declaration' Receives Standing Ovation at Cannes Film Festival 2021
Before hitting the big screen, "Emergency Declaration" made its debut screening at the 74th Cannes Film Festival.
The movie was officially invited to the Out of Competition category, a non-competitive section that selects works with both commercial and artistic factors.
Interestingly, the team managed to pull off a successful world premiere as thousands of viewers watched the film.
As noted by an outlet, the audience gave the "Emergency Declaration" cast and director a round of applause four times during screening and a surprising 10-minute standing ovation.
For director Han Jae Rim, he shared that he was surprised by the public's reaction and was "thrilled to see the audience clapping and enjoying the movie."
Moreover, Lee Byung Hun also noted that he is "honored" to be part of the cast, while Im Si Wan admitted that he was "a little nervous while watching the movie," adding, "I just want to say that it was truly an honor to perform with such great actors."
Aside from the standing ovation, "Emergency Declaration" also received praise from Cannes Film Festival's general delegate Thierry Frémaux described the movie as "shockingly amazing!"
