Son Seok Koo impressed viewers with his versatility as an actor as he plays the villain in "The Roundup."
The action movie is a sequel to the 2017 blockbuster "The Outlaws," which stars Ma Dong Seok.
Five years later, the A-lister, also known by his American name as Don Lee, returns as the fearless detective Ma Suk Do alongside his Geumcheonseo's strong team to carry out a dangerous mission.
"The Outlaws 2" introduced the new villain through Son Seok Koo's character Gang Hae Sang, South Korea's most wanted criminal. The serial killer heads to Vietnam to escape his crime in his home country.
Ma Dong Seok, who is also the executive producer of the film, shared the difference between the original film versus the sequel.
As obtained by a report, the A-lister explained that the "first installment, based on a real-life event, was set in 2004," meanwhile, "the second installment, assembled several crime cases that occurred between 2007 and 2009," adding "As the series unfolds, each of the events will move toward the current times."

Following the success of the highly anticipated sequel, "The Roundup," director Lee Sang Yong shared his thoughts about the second installment and why he cast Son Seok Koo as the villain.

Lee Sang Yong was given a chance by "The Outlaws" director Kang Yoon Sung to work with him for the movie's second installment.
To recall, he was the movie's assistant director but had his directorial debut back in 2009 with "The Clue."
For his second movie, he revealed what prompted him to offer the villain character to Son Seok Koo.
As obtained by a media outlet, Lee Sang Yong says he was attracted to how the 39-year-old actor portrayed his role in the 2019 series "Designated Survivor: 60 Days" and Netflix's "Sense 8" directed by The Wachowskis.
Moreover, he also praised Son Seok Koo's work ethic, pointing out his dedication to portraying the character.
The director described him as a "very passionate actor."
He also got honest and said that he "felt the pressure" to direct Son Seok Koo since he is known for his versatility in playing various roles.

Aside from "The Roundup," Son Seok Koo also regained his popularity after starring as the beloved Mr. Gu in "My Liberation Notes."
Fans loved the actor's chemistry with Kim Ji Won, who played his loveline Yeom Mi Jung.
Adding to the list of Son Seok Koo's new drama, he will reprise his role as Captain Im Ji Sup in Netflix's "D.P."
Moreover, he recently came back from the Philippines after filming his upcoming Kdrama "Casino" alongside Lee Dong Hwi and more.
